Pine Trader Antiques in Summerland

Last weekend I visited the owners of  Pine Trader Antiques in Santa Ynez. It was such a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of LA. So close yet a world away! We spent a few hours watching the Rodeo, something I had never done before. If was fascinating to see these real cowboys demonstrate their craft surrounded by the beautiful wine country hills in the distance. My visit was only 24 hours yet I felt like I’d spent several days here and returned to Los Angeles refreshed and looking forward to my next visit.

I loved the tranquility and slow pace of life here and was completely absorbed photographing the hundreds of years old antiques in Clive Markey’s barn, which is a work of art in itself! The furniture has such tactile textures and loving craftsmanship that you don’t find in our Pottery Barn times. I recommend a visit to the showroom in Summerland where you will find discover several rooms displaying a huge range of items and see some of my fine art photography for sale on the walls! There are plenty of charming little cafes in Summerland and a beautiful beach to enjoy a post lunch stroll.  If fancy visiting some wine tasting you can drive further inland to Santa Ynez where you will find yourself surrounded by wineries in the lush rolling hills where you can spend a lazy afternoon wine tasting.
