Lauren and Brad’s New Years Day Shoot
On a crisp, cold and sunny New Years Day we all gathered for our family portrait shoot at Lauren and Brad’s gorgeous Santa Fe Home. The house is like a tree house – high up, circular, and with huge beams like the spokes of a wheel supporting the ceiling above. It is so unusual and unlike any house I’ve ever seen! Our shoot took place in the round living room and also on the semi-circular deck outside – though our outside shots were done in short bursts as it was so very cold! To warm everyone up Lauren kindly made hot chocolate – delicious with marshmallows! Thank you to Lauren, Brad, the children for braving the cold temperatures outside! What a prefect way to start the New Year….Happy New Year everyone….
We all enjoyed our shoot with Dawn. She was very flexible with the variety of ages–4 through 20–of the kids, and with the freezing cold we were dealing with. She found some great light inside and worked with our group with patience and a lot of artistry. I love the images she captured, and the finishing work she did after the shoot.
She is a warm and lovely woman. We were very lucky to have found her in Santa Fe as she was passing through on her move to Los Angeles. We wish her the best in her new, exciting adventure!
